Educational Program – Pre-K

Our Pre-K program is centered around developmentally appropriate activities that encourage the social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional development of each child. The philosophy behind our curriculum is that children learn best by doing and playing. We believe that true learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn first-hand about the world in which we live. Our center-based classrooms provide hands-on opportunities for children to learn through play.

We keep a low teacher to child ratio to ensure that students can have as much individual attention as they need at any given time.

Based upon the socialization skills that the children acquired in our 2’s & 3’s Program, our pre-school children are provided with an environment which has more clearly defined learning areas such as block play, art, math, science, and language arts. These areas contain developmentally appropriate materials which the children use through independent choice as well as through teacher directed learning.

Teacher directed learning time takes place in circle time and small groups throughout the day. Circle time includes story time, music and movement, and Math activities. Students also receive education in Christian studies, also through developmentally appropriate activities that students enjoy.

Children are exposed to developmental reading readiness as they begin to familiarize themselves with letters and sounds. All teaching is done through exciting activities designed to foster a love for learning and excitement about coming to school.

We have an outdoor playground where the children can enjoy large movement activities.
