Our Mission
The faculty and staff of Saint John Preparatory School (SJPS), along with the cooperation and support of the parents, will provide a safe and healthy environment where each child is ensured of a challenging learning program that will allow for achievement at his/her maximum potential and ultimate success in school.
Saint John Preparatory School, where excellence is never compromised, ensures the development of its students through a dedicated and highly skilled staff implementing a curriculum in close collaboration with parents and supported by a caring community so that its students will be prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. Our mission is to develop independent and successful children.
Vision
Saint John Preparatory School, faith based, feels that education is also mission of the church; therefore, provisions are made in Saint John Baptist Church along with the preparatory school to provide training for children between the ages of two to five. “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6.
Saint John Preparatory School seeks to motivate, encourage, and teach young children the skills essential for a smooth entrance into the public schools, while physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and educational growth is emphasized. It is further believed that parental involvement is imperative if young children are to succeed.
Core Values
Saint John Preparatory School combines academic learning and structured play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Children are given plenty of room to discover, explore and learn. This is their introduction to a lifetime of learning, and it’s a journey that should start on the right foot. Our environment is built around children and their needs. Our teachers have the sensitivity and knowledge to understand a child’s individual developmental needs. They help each child learn in his or her own way. Our classrooms and playgrounds are well-appointed and designed to stimulate young minds. Most importantly, we encourage a highly productive partnership between the director, teachers, and parents. We believe:
